About Lonsway Tax

“In this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes.”
— Benjamin Franklin
Michelle Lonsway, EA
Michelle opened Lonsway Tax in 2018 after working for ten years as a seasonal tax preparer for a national company. Because her husband’s work requires extensive, long-term travel, Michelle established a virtual office in order to accompany him. This enables Lonsway Tax to serve clients in Brevard County, FL, various other states in the U.S., and military members overseas.
In addition to tax work, Michelle is an active member of the National Association of Enrolled Agents (NAEA). Most recently Michelle served as a member of the NAEA Leadership and Nominating Committees and Co-Chair of the NAEA Affiliate/Chapter Transition Team (2021-2025). Previous roles include NAEA Director (2021-2024), Executive Vice President of the Florida Society of Enrolled Agents (2021-2023) and President of the Space Coast Chapter of Enrolled Agents (2019-2021).
What is an Enrolled Agent?
Enrolled agents (Circular 230 practitioners) are federally authorized tax practitioners empowered by the U.S. Department of the Treasury to represent taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) for tax issues including audits, collections, and appeals. The EA credential is the highest awarded by the IRS and is earned by passing a three-part Special Enrollment Exam or through previous and specific experience while employed by the IRS.
